this is the Turning Torso, a new residential building in Sweden, designed by my favorite architect Santiago Calatrava. it is due to open in Spring of 2005. his designs are inspired by anthropomorphic forms, aesthetically as well as structurally. i'm an avid follower of biomorphic design, as you can see from my amazon listmania list. there will be an exhibition about architecture inspired by animal forms, called Zoomorphic, at the Victoria and Albert Museum, in London, opening on September 18.
