a five-millimetre-long fossil of an arthropod that existed 425 million years ago newly named Colymbosathon ecplecticos, for
"amazing swimmer with a large penis," was found recently. it is proclaimed to be the oldest male fossil ever found. the researchers used a "shave and photograph" technique to create a virtual model of the fossil, layer by layer. it has limbs for swimming and scavenging for food along the ocean floor.
