Kevin Warwick, who implanted a silicon chip in his arm in 1998, is on to Project Cyborg 4.0. in Project Cyborg 1.0, he communicated with machines. in 2.0, he communicated with his wife (who also had an implant) via their nervous system. this will be tested in people with motor-neuron diseases for 3.0. though there is much criticism, i think he's got the right idea: "Talking is obsolete. It's an old-fashioned thing. We'll still do it for a while. But communicating by thinking... it's tremendously exciting." (via kurzeilAI)
